About Jonathan
A lifetime of sheer hard work does have its benefits
Cue the Spotlight. Do you really want to know all of this?

OK well here goes. I am married ( to Natanya ) and we have two children. We moved to Gloucestershire from London in 2000 when the boys were little, and still can’t quite believe our good fortune in living somewhere as astonishingly beautiful as the Cotswolds. I have been taking pictures since I was 11 (which is quite a long time ago !) I bought my first real SLR ( a Zenit B for all you anoraks out there) and learned how to develop and print my pictures and sold my first photographs at 14! Like a lot of really good professional photographers there is usually at least one other career behind them, and I am no exception.
My first career was that of a professional classical pianist, which, as you can imagine was pretty amazing. You may deduce from this that I am fairly artistic. Don’t’ be fooled however by the urban myths about “artistic” types. It requires years of hard labour, diligence, persistence thoroughness, attention to detail, relentless practice and a highly self critical nature if you are to get to learn memorize and perform say the Rachmaninov 3rd Piano concerto, which I am proud to say I have performed twice! I also have a Degree in Music from the RNCM in Manchester and I have B.A. (Hons) in philosophy (2:1) from London University.
Anyway what does all this mean to you? How does this relate to my picture taking?
Well, a lifetime of sheer hard work and grim determination does have its benefits. It means I like to prepare-properly. You don’t go and stand in front of a 1000 people in a concert hall unless you really know what you’re doing! It means I tend to be extremely committed to everything I do, and that includes making great photographs. To that end, I have spent the last year or so, training with Damien Lovegrove and his team, (which has been fantastic) to help me realise that ambition. Damien is probably one of the best wedding pros in the world. You see - it’s all about preparation.
Are you beginning to build some kind of picture yet?
OK then it’s time for me to stop rabbiting on and for you to look around the web site and decide if you would like me to photograph you, your wedding or your family!
